The sheriff’s office reported that two children, a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old, were discovered hiding inside the residence. However, none of the juveniles sustained any injuries. Yaniv and the gunman were involved in a disagreement prior to the shooting, according to the initial inquiry conducted by the police. The investigation also revealed that the shooter and the victims were all linked to each other.

According to the Joint Special Operations Unit Undersheriff Shawn Coarsey, the incident began when the son, who is multiracial and 22 years old, began using racial insults, which Yaniv, who is white, did not like. The son walked upstairs, armed himself, and put on tactical gear including a vest, gloves, and a mask before shooting his father to death, according to Coarsey.

This occurred after the argument that had transpired. JSO stated that the shooter’s sibling was the victim of the deadly shooting that also occurred to a 12-year-old child. The woman, who is thought to be the mother of the shooter, was shot numerous times, but she was able to escape the house and phone the police, as stated by Coarsey.
