Multiple enforcement officers and emergency crews are responding to an incident of a shooting at Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina. According to report, an individual has been shot at the school campus. There is currently a heavy police response and a helicopter on the way as well. Wingate University is reportedly on lockdown following the tragic incident.
Wingate University is a private liberal arts university with campuses in Wingate, Charlotte, and Hendersonville, North Carolina. It identifies as a university with “Judeo-Christian heritage.” The university enrolls more than 3,600 students.
