Who was Ryan Prudhomme? Pelham Man Killed in Nashua Police Shooting

Ryan Prudhomme of Pelham NH was shot and killed by Nashua Police during a confrontation Sunday night.

Prudhomme, 41, died of a single gunshot wound to the chest, according to an autopsy.

Nashua police encountered the suspect armed with a handgun outside a Lowe’s home improvements store at 143 Daniel Webster Highway, leading to a shooting.

Two officers fired ‘less lethal’ munitions while a third fired his gun.

Prudhomme was hit and despite life-saving measures, succumbed to his injuries.

Nashua police had responded to the store after a report from Pelham police about a man who was armed earlier in the evening and was last seen leaving his home.

Pelham police had received a call from a relative of the man who was worried because they believed he was having a mental health episode and was armed with a gun.

Police searched the area and could not find him.

A be-on-the-lookout was put out to area police departments, and a short time later, the man was found in the Lowe’s parking lot.

Officers involved in the shooting will not be identified until formal interviews take place.

The New Hampshire Department of Justice and the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit are investigating the incident.
