Lily Basil, a student of Page High School from Franklin, TN, died just after her high school graduation.
Basil, 18, was the latest newly graduated high school student to succumb to gun violence when she was shot and killed.
Matthew Roufail, 18, was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal homicide for the shooting.
Bond has been set at $150,000.
The incident occurred on Saturday, May 25th, 2024 in the McKay’s Mill area.
Lily was shot on the evening of her graduation from Page High School.
In support of her family, a Meal Train was set up.
“As many of you know, the Basil family is going through an incredibly difficult time after the unexpected loss of their beloved daughter, Lily. During this period of deep grief, we want to provide them with as much support and comfort as possible. One way we can help is by ensuring they have meals taken care of, so they have one less thing to worry about,” the text on the Meal Train page read.
