Lachelle Boyd Identified Among Three Fatalities in Memphis Hit-and-Run
Lachelle Boyd, 50, has been named as one of three individuals who tragically lost their lives in a hit-and-run accident in Memphis on Sunday. The crash also resulted in five others, including three children, being hospitalized.
The incident took place on Hickory Hill Road near Sunny Morning Drive. Authorities currently have limited information about the crash and are conducting an investigation.
Boyd was a former teacher with Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS), having spent many years educating students at Sherwood Elementary. Dewayne Lewis, who identified himself as Boyd’s cousin, described her as a “great business-minded person” and noted her deep affection for children. “She loved kids. She was a teacher for so many years and was more of a born giver, not a receiver,” Lewis shared.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) is seeking to speak with the drivers of six vehicles observed leaving the scene of the crash.
