Ashley Parmeley is a woman from Festus, Missouri who has been arrested after she confessed to murdering her two children.
Parmeley, 36, of Pevely, walked into the Festus Police Department to confess to shooting and drowning two children – her 9-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son.
She has been charged with second-degree murder and is currently in custody in the Jefferson County jail.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a woman walked into their offices around 10:30 a.m. on May 28th to confess she shot one of her children and drowned the other.
Officers learned the shot child was in her car and rushed to perform life-saving measures but unfortunately the child passed away as a result of a gunshot wound from their mother.
Further questioning revealed that a second child was deceased at the Timber Creek Resort near Festus.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department was alerted and rushed to the scene.
A Deputy swam out and brought the child to shore were life-saving measures were performed but unfortunately the child did not make it.
Parmeley reportedly had a third child who was found alive and well.
