The passing of Sophia Frye has left the Birdsview community in deep mourning, as they come to terms with the loss of a vibrant and cherished young soul. Sophia’s presence at Street High School in Sedro-Woolley was marked by her vivacious character and generous nature, impacting her classmates, friends, and teachers profoundly.
In response to this tragic loss, Leslie Pelch has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to support Jennifer Frazier and Sophia’s grieving family. This compassionate effort aims to ease the financial burden associated with Sophia’s memorial services, reflecting the community’s solidarity and empathy during this difficult time. Any surplus funds raised will be donated to State Street High School, honoring Sophia’s memory and continuing her positive influence within the school community.
To commemorate Sophia’s life and honor her memory, several memorial events have been organized. A Candlelight Vigil will be held on Friday evening at 6 PM at State Street High School in Sedro-Woolley, providing an opportunity for friends, family, and community members to gather in remembrance and support. Following this, a Rosary will take place at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley on Sunday evening at 5:00 PM, offering a moment for reflection and prayer.
The final farewell will be marked by a funeral mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Mount Vernon on Monday, March 4, at 12:15 PM, followed by a memorial service at Hillcrest Lodge in Mount Vernon. These gatherings will serve as solemn tributes to Sophia, allowing those who knew and loved her to find closure and solace amidst their grief.
