MARGATE, FLA. Following gunfire at a Margate retail center, one person was airlifted to the hospital and one suspect was taken into custody by the police. At approximately five o’clock on Friday evening, Margate Police units arrived on the scene in the 6500 block of West Atlantic Boulevard.
The victim, who had been shot, was transported by air to Broward Health North. The patient’s status is unknown as of Friday night. Authorities reported that a suspect was in custody.
Investigations are currently being conducted on the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Following an altercation at a Margate residence on Monday, one person was shot and another was stabbed. The fight reportedly escalated, according to Margate Police authorities, and the incident happened at a house on the 6900 block of Northwest 4th Place.
