Sarah Simmons, a 36-year-old resident of Mansfield, Ohio, tragically passed away on Sunday, July 28th, 2024. Her death was announced on social media with a heartfelt message: “Our hearts are hurting tonight hearing of the loss of one of our fellow racing friends who passed away in an accident. We are going to try to help the family. Any shirt purchased in the next two weeks, we will donate $5 to the family. You will be missed, Sarah Simmons.”
What was Sarah Simmons’ cause of death?
On July 28, 2024, the Logansport Police Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on US 35, west of 18th Street. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2020 Honda Pilot, driven by Jennifer Womack, 31, of Weston, Ohio, collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Jeremy Canada, 37, of Barberton, Ohio, after crossing the grass median while traveling east on US 35.
Sarah Ann Simmons, a passenger in the Trailblazer, was pronounced dead at the scene. Jeremy Canada was transported to IU Arnett in Lafayette by ground ambulance, and Jennifer Womack was taken to Logansport Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. The intersection of US 35 and 18th Street was not involved in the collision. Weather conditions are currently considered a contributing factor.

Jeremy Canada, from Barberton, Ohio, graduated from Barberton High School and owned JC’s Race Parts. Sarah Ann Simmons, from Mansfield, Ohio, graduated from Madison Comprehensive High School in 2006 and studied Drafting and Design at North Central State College, graduating in 2008. Sarah worked as a Parts Consultant at JC’s Race Parts.
Multiple agencies assisted with the crash, including Lutheran Air, Cass County Traffic Control Units, Logansport Fire Department, Indiana State Police, Cass County Sheriff’s Department, and K&K Recovery.
