Ryan Kowitz Marietta GA Death, Louisiana State University Student died at age 20

Louisiana State University Student Ryan Kowitz of Marietta, Georgia has sadly passed away at the age of 20. He died on Sunday 30th June 2024 leaving behind his beloved family. He was confirmed dead through a Facebook post that said “Thank you for the love, the support & the prayers as we navigate this whole thing. Our hearts are broken, our lives will never be the same. 💔 We love him so much and are just grieved. Thank you again for your kindness.” The cause of Ryan Kowitz’s death has not been released.

Ryan Kowitz Birth and Education

Ryan Kowitz, born on November 24, 2003, to Dave Kowitz and Stephanie McMahan, was a vibrant and dedicated young man who touched the lives of many. Having just completed his second year at Louisiana State University (LSU) after graduating from Walton High School in Georgia in 2022, Ryan was already making a significant impact both on campus and in his community. At LSU, Ryan was an active member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, where he forged lifelong friendships and contributed to the fraternity’s positive spirit. His commitment to the university extended beyond the fraternity as he worked at the LSU Alumni Hall, demonstrating his dedication to supporting his school and its alumni.

Ryan’s summers were spent at the Center Ice Arena in Sandy Springs, Georgia, where he worked for the past four years. This job perfectly aligned with his growing love for ice skating and hockey, sports that he became increasingly passionate about. His enthusiasm for hockey paralleled his lifelong love of baseball, cultivated during his years playing at East Side Baseball Park and his unwavering support for the Atlanta Braves.

Beyond the rink and the baseball diamond, Ryan was an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed snowboarding, spending time on the lake, and had recently taken up golf, where he quickly established a respectable handicap. These activities were not just hobbies but a testament to his zest for life and his eagerness to embrace new challenges. Known for his unwavering loyalty and readiness to help, he was always there for his loved ones, no matter the situation.

Ryan Kowitz Obituary

Ryan is survived by his father Dave (Elizabeth) Kowitz and mother Stephanie (J.T.) McMahan. He is also survived by his sister Katelyn Kowitz, stepbrothers David Carroll, Sam Carroll, Jacob McMahan and stepsister Grace Carroll. Ryan is also survived by his grandmother Pamela Kowitz and grandfather/grandmother, Peter/Faye Lenox. A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday July 6, at H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel 1157 Old Canton Road NE, Marietta GA 30068.
