Legendary Producer and Songwriter, Peter Collins has passed away, former Rush producer Alex Lifeson confirmed the news of his passing in a post shared on Instagram. He died at his home in Nashville, after a long fight with cancer.
Collins produced Rush’s Power Windows and Hold Your Fire albums. According to RUSH, Peter Collins was our beloved producer for 4 albums. First on Power Windows (‘85), then Hold Your Fire (‘87), Counterparts (‘93) and Test For Echo (‘96).
“He was an absolute pleasure to work with and gave us so many great memories and hilarious expressions & quotes that we still reference to this day,” Mike Portnoy said. He was a producer’s producer, with a mind boggling, genre spanning resume of countless great albums. Queensrÿche, Gary Moore, Rush, Brian Setzer, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Air Supply and many other artists.
