It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news of Pastor Peder Eide’s passing on April 26, 2024, after bravely battling cancer. At LIFEST, we mourn the loss of our dear friend and host.
Peder’s impact extended far beyond his role as a pastor. His annual Christmas Tour brought joy to countless people each December, and his song “Why Wouldn’t I” became a beloved anthem for those passionate about adoption and orphan care. His recent Christmas CD, “Perfect Surprise,” earned praise from USA TODAY as a featured holiday selection.
Through concerts and worship services, Peder ministered to diverse church denominations and collaborated with numerous ministry groups. His music resonated with listeners nationwide, with over 200 radio stations regularly playing his songs. Hits like “Roll the Stone Away” reached the Top 10 on National Inspirational Charts, reflecting Peder’s genuine devotion to the Lord.
Peder’s ministry extended beyond music as he served as a spokesperson for Compassion International, sponsoring thousands of children from developing nations. His personal joy was seeing his own family sponsor children and welcoming two adopted children, Makenzie and Teshome, into their lives.
Despite his battle with cancer, Peder remained dedicated to his family. He cherished moments with his wife Sherri and their three children, Taylor, Allison, and Ethan. Whether coaching his kids’ sports teams or enjoying family jam sessions, Peder embraced every moment with love and gratitude.
While his dream of making it big on the PGA tour may have faded, Peder’s legacy as a devoted husband, father, pastor, and musician will live on in the hearts of those he touched. We honor his memory and celebrate the impact he had on countless lives.
