Nathan Morris of Canton, MI, Dies in Tragic Shooting
Nathan Morris, a 35-year-old resident of Canton Township, Michigan, has died following a tragic shooting incident on Saturday. Morris, who was a Wayne County officer and a Republican, succumbed to gunshot wounds.
The incident unfolded after Morris had sent his daughter home from playing on Cornell Street. Reports indicate that she was caught in crossfire from a nearby shooting. It is alleged that a neighbor, upset over Morris’s daughter allegedly disturbing his mulch, shot himself in the aftermath.
Morris was found bleeding on the street and was transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away. The neighbor involved in the shooting has surrendered to authorities and is currently in custody.
In addition to his role as a Wayne County officer, Morris was an active community member and had run for a position on the Plymouth-Canton Community Schools board. He is survived by his wife, Becky, and their two young daughters, Molly and Zoey.
