Tragic Shooting Claims Life of Naryah Wright from Steelton
Early Sunday morning, a shooting in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, resulted in the death of Naryah Wright, a freshman cheerleader from Steelton High School. Naryah succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.
The shooting occurred around 12:15 a.m. near South 19th and Derry streets. Police responding to reports of gunfire found a large crowd in the area but initially could not locate any victims.
Naryah was later brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound. Despite immediate surgery, she tragically passed away due to the severity of her injuries, according to police reports. Naryah was known for her role as a cheerleader at Steelton High School and had plans to join the track team.
She is survived by her mother and younger siblings, who are deeply grieving her loss. To honor her memory, a moment of silence was held at the school’s football field at 5 p.m. on Sunday, as announced by her mother on Facebook.
