Known affectionately as “Big Mike,” Daignault made his mark in the fendered division of the speedway during the 1970s, racing alongside notable figures such as Bill Sweet, Bob Gada, Ron Cote, Mysterious Wayne Smith, and Donny Fowler.
Daignault was a formidable competitor, achieving significant success as part of the Ford team, which clinched numerous victories throughout the decade. His remarkable talent behind the wheel was evident in his record-tying ten wins during the 1971 season driving Earl Passmore’s “Spirit of 76” car.
