Mark Van Rijswijk, a resident of Ottawa, Ontario, and a well-known businessman has sadly passed away. He was announced dead by The Waterfront Gastropub through a social media publication that read “It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of our Ops Manager and Co-owner Mark Van Rijswijk. All of our locations will be closed Tuesday, July 2nd. We are sorry for any inconvenience and we hope you will join us in our thoughts for his family.”
Who was Mark Van Rijswijk?
Mark Van Rijswijk was the former owner and operator of Envy Tapas Lounge and Shaugnessy’s Pub and Grill in Sudbury, Ontario. He was currently the owner and Operations Manager of Final Score Sports Bar and The Waterfront Gastropub. He was from Ottawa, Ontario, and was a caring husband to Deanne Feltham Dunn. He graduated from Willis Business College in 1996 where he studied Business Administration and Management.
Van Rijswijk was open to sponsoring local sports teams. For several years, the business owner hosted a free community Christmas dinner at The Waterfront Gastropub. Mark Van Rijswijk has always been such a beautiful human and this huge loss will be felt by all in the community that he loved and did so much for.

Final Score Sports Bar Carleton Place in a social media statement said “It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of our Ops Manager and Co-owner Mark Van Rijswijk. John Bailey also wrote “Today has been one of the hardest of my life as we lost not only our very close friend and our business partner but an absolute legend who would do anything for everyone.
Rest in peace Mark Van Rijswijk. I have learnt so much from you and thank you for the opportunity to be your friend and to be part of the business. I will try to honour you in everything we do.”
