Multiple police vehicles, ambulances, and fire trucks are responding to the scene of a shooting in downtown Maple Ridge, B.C. According to reports, Ridge Meadows RCMP is responding to the scene of a fatal shooting on 222 Maple Ridge.

A suspect is on the run after shooting and killing a person on 222 Maple Ridge. According to law enforcement agencies, the Intersection is currently blocked off from 222 Lougheed to 225th due to the incident.
Who Died In Maple Ridge Shooting
A large number of RCMP responded to the reports of an individual shot in the head in the downtown area of Maple Ridge. According to the department, the victim was located on the scene suffering from a gunshot injury. Responding officers performed live-saving measures on the victim, but he was pronounced deceased on the scene. A suspect fled the scene after the incident.

What Happened On Maple Ridge Today?
The major highway through Maple Ridge has been shut down in both directions, from 224th Street to the Haney Bypass, and at least a half dozen police cruisers and a few handfuls of officers are on the street, just east of the intersection, where a reported argument erupted into gunfire, said one witness on scene. Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports just after 5 p.m. of shots fired.
“We are canvassing right now, speaking with witnesses, getting information, “We don’t know how long the road will be [closed], but we believe there is no danger to the public,” explained SSgt. Hally Shin.
According to a witness, a verbal argument between two men – one pulled a knife, and another pulled a gun. Three shots were fired, striking the male allegedly armed with a knife. The man ran off east towards 224th Street, then escaped sight between two businesses, heading south toward the Fraser River. A bystander administered CPR until police arrived.
