Lindsey Power Death: Law enforcement agencies have identified the woman who passed away in apparent murder-suicide as a longtime Elevation Credit Union Senior Business Banker. Police say Lindsey Power died after she was shot by her acquaintance who was also found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police say officials were dispatched to the scene for a report of a hostage in Fort Collins, Colorado. Arriving officers found two people dead inside a home. The incident is now being investigated as a murder-suicide, according to Fort Collins Police Services.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Monday, a police informant reported that they suspected her spouse of holding an acquaintance against her will at a residence in the 2900 block of Middlesborough Court. Officers surrounded the residence but made no contact with any occupants and did not detect any distress signals, according to a press release from Fort Collins Police. Police stated that there was no immediate need to enter the residence at the time because they did not observe any obvious signs of peril. A search warrant was formulated and ultimately approved, enabling the intruders to enter the residence by force.
They discovered the corpses of two individuals and a firearm nearby upon entering. “This case is extremely unfortunate for all parties involved, and the outcome was certainly not what anyone had hoped for.” Deputy Chief Greg Yeager stated, “Our officers and detectives will diligently process the scene and seek answers for all involved.” The Larimer County Coroner will disclose the deceased’s official cause, manner, and identities at a later date, contingent upon the notification of next of kin.
