Obituary: Kyle Duncan (2006 – 2024)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kyle David Duncan, a cherished resident of Perry, Kansas. Kyle, a student at Free State High School, tragically departed from this world on March 23, 2024, at the tender age of 17. His sudden and unexpected death has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him, yet the circumstances surrounding his passing remain unknown, shrouded in mystery.
Born on August 16, 2006, in Lawrence, Kansas, Kyle was a beloved member of his community. A junior at Free State High School, he harbored aspirations of playing basketball at the collegiate level. Kyle eagerly anticipated an upcoming club basketball season, where he would unite with his longtime teammates and coaches. Additionally, he looked forward to embarking on a summer hiking trip to Colorado with his sister.
Kyle’s educational journey included attending Woodlawn Elementary, St. John’s Middle School, Bishop Seabury, and Free State High School. He was a vibrant young man fueled by a zest for life. Kyle found joy in various pursuits, including basketball, outdoor adventures, Camp Chippewa, animals, video games, riflery, canoeing, camping, and enjoying meals at Chick-fil-A. Above all, he cherished moments spent with his friends and family.
Kyle is survived by his loving sister, Aubrey Duncan; devoted parents, Donald and Teresa Duncan; doting grandparents, Linda and Paul Koetterheinrich, and David Duncan; caring aunt, Cristy Nelson; supportive uncles, Dave Nelson and Daniel Duncan; and cherished cousins, Taylor Reitz, Daniel Duncan, and Tyler Duncan. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Duncan.
A celebration of Kyle’s life will be held at a later date, allowing loved ones the opportunity to gather and honor his memory.
In Kyle’s absence, his light continues to shine bright in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
