In Chicago, Illinois, an early Saturday morning shooting on the city’s South Side resulted in the death of one man and critically injured a woman. The Chicago Police Department reported that the incident took place around 12:36 a.m. inside a residence in the 1700 block of East 67th Street.
The male victim, identified as 23-year-old Julian Williams, sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen. Despite emergency responders quickly transporting him to a nearby hospital, Williams was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A 23-year-old woman was also wounded in the shooting. She suffered gunshot wounds to her face and neck and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released her identity.
Currently, no suspects are in custody, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown. Detectives from the Chicago Police Department’s Area One are actively investigating the case. They are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
