The town of Middlesboro, Kentucky, is in mourning following the passing of Jojo Wilson, affectionately known as Danny Wilson, on December 13, 2023. Jojo, who was 45 years old, passed away at Middlesboro A.R.H., surrounded by his loving family and friends. His death has left a profound impact on the community, with many sharing their grief and extending heartfelt condolences to his family.
Born on March 2, 1978, in Middlesboro to Joel Wilson (Lasley) and the late Joan Yeary, Jojo Wilson was a man of many passions and talents. He had a deep love for hot rods and was skilled in the art of trading. Jojo’s joy in trading stemmed not from the transaction itself but from the company and interactions with others.
Jojo’s musical talent was evident in his angelic voice, which he often showcased through singing. Known for his generous heart, he was always ready to lend a helping hand, especially to those close to him. His role as a father was one of his greatest joys, bringing immense happiness to his life.
Jojo was a man of versatility, proficient in various skills and blessed with a vibrant personality. He was known for his playful teasing and humor, often bringing smiles and laughter to those around him.
He is survived by his wife Brittani Wilson, daughter Lyndi Elkinton-Wilson, son Devin Hill, special nephew Michael “Mikey” Hensley, father Joel Wilson (Lasley), brother Michael Hensley, sister Donna Myte, and special in-laws Gerald and Tina Morgan. Jojo also leaves behind a special aunt Frankie Ayers, and several individuals he considered brothers, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jojo was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Yeary, and many loved ones and friends, including Uncle Rick Sampson, Uncle Carl Shackelford, Miss Judy, Uncle Bobby Moore, Paul Collins, and others he held dear.
The family of Jojo Wilson will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at Green Hills Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Nelson Bingham presiding. All Graveside Services will be private, with honorary pallbearers including Jay Hopper, Mike Partin, Tony Arnett, and others.
