You may disagree with his political beliefs and still have a really good chat because of the kindness and respect with which he shared them. He was a constant presence at any local car meetings with his yellow Cobra.
Just before moving back to the US, he adopted a second puppy because it needed a better home and he was prepared to give it to her—even though it probably cost him an additional thousand dollars.
