With heavy hearts, we convey the somber news of the passing of Hugh Strivens, a revered figure who graced both the fields of play and the camaraderie of Lightwater Rugby Club. Despite his relocation to Northampton, Hugh remained a steadfast friend and unwavering supporter of our club’s endeavors.

Hugh’s dedication to the game extended beyond the boundaries of competition; he found immense joy in the social fabric and familial bonds woven within rugby.

Serving as the Honorary Secretary of his beloved Northampton Casuals and actively engaging in their Minis section, where his sons found their own rugby passion, Hugh epitomized the essence of rugby’s community spirit.
