Heritage Middle School Lockdown: Shelter-in-place reported in Catoosa County schools

Heritage Middle School Lockdown:- The lockdown at Heritage Middle School and Heritage High School was lifted at 9 a.m. on Thursday.

According to Catoosa County Schools Spokeswoman Marissa Brower, deputies determined that the individual initially reported to have a firearm was actually carrying a cellphone, not a gun.

The lockdowns at both schools were triggered earlier in the morning following a report of a person with a firearm spotted near Poplar Springs Road, not far from the schools.

Authorities are still investigating the incident, and additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
