About Forest Heights Elementary School
Forest Heights Elementary School continuously offers a secure, captivating, caring, and demanding learning environment, which aids in the development of the World Class Skills of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate in all of its children. They are able to accomplish this by making certain that every choice is made with our students’ best interests in mind. Encouraging, teaching, and empowering children is our district’s vision, and they are dedicated to putting their needs first every day! By implementing best practices across the board, Forest Height’s instructors and staff are committed to pushing kids to achieve their best every day they enter the building.
As a school, they’ve embraced the growth mentality and made it their goal to help their kids achieve success in anything they set their minds to. They provide them with so much to ensure their success. To begin their day, they have a 3-hour block of uninterrupted reading instruction. This gives instructors more time to implement Balanced Literacy and lay the groundwork for all students’ literacy. Forest Heights makes the most of teaching time, minimises distractions, utilises morning class sessions for advocacy, and concentrates on the unique needs of each student. They also put a strong emphasis on maths, with daily maths instruction lasting more than 75 minutes. This covers spiralling maths workstations as well as large and small groups. They provide our pupils with unparalleled technological benefits and chances due to our one-to-one device ratio. This will assist in preparing students for success in our high-tech age. Many of their students are drawn to the string and music programmes offered by Forest Heights. In addition, they provide art classes, where kids participate in district-wide competitions and frequently win awards and acclaim. Their intention is to give our pupils experiences that go beyond the core subjects of maths and literacy. In order to foster creativity and inquisitive abilities, our school has a scientific lab and participates in science projects. Their aim is to develop students who can think critically and thoroughly in order to solve challenges by working together and communicating with their peers.
Additionally, Forest Heights is a PBIS school. They think it’s best to concentrate on the good things in life and ignore the bad. Our school-wide PBIS program has had a tremendously good impact on behavior across the board and has had a significant impact on our environment and culture. Situated in Columbia, South Carolina’s Richland One School District, Forest Heights Elementary School is an expanding and flourishing institution. Their goal is to always keep a growth attitude and make sure that they are reaching the entire student, not just some of them! Serving a fantastic community of parents, families, and kids who aspire to always be the best is what Forest Heights is all about. Our students routinely graduate from our program ready to contribute to Richland County and South Carolina as model citizens.
