Donte Lewis Obituary – The Los Angeles County authorities identified a 35-year-old man who was killed in two separate shootings in Watts, which occurred within a few blocks and 20 minutes apart from each other. The first shooting took place at 8:58 p.m. on Feb. 24 in an alley behind the 10400 block of South Wilmington Avenue, as reported by LAPD Officer Drake Madison to City News Service.
Donte Lewis was discovered in the alley, unconscious and not breathing. Paramedics quickly transported him to a hospital for medical attention, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
At 9:20 p.m., another shooting was reported at 107th Street and Wilmington Avenue. The victim, described as a man around 60 years old, was assaulted by two individuals aged approximately 18 or 19, one of whom was armed with a semiautomatic handgun, Officer Madison stated.
The second victim was also taken to a hospital by paramedics in an unknown condition. The shooting locations are situated just east of the Watts Towers.
