The Clairton, Pennsylvania, community are mourning the passing of Kenlein Ogletree, a Clairton High School graduate and Lackawanna College student. Kenlein was said to be the victim in Clairton shooting. He was former Clairton Bears Standout Athlete, Ogletree played against farrell in the piaa class 1A Western finals back in 2019. Kenlein Ogletree was pronounced dead from his injuries. He was a better person, never mad always upbeat and always a great attitude on the team.
About Kenlein Ogletree
Kenneth Ogletree, Kenlein’s father, was a standout wide receiver and shooting guard for the Clairton Bears in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He died in 2007 of problems from an enlarged heart when Kenlein was just six years old, shortly before the start of his first youth football season. Kenneth passed on his knowledge at a young age, in addition to his remarkable athletic skills, even though he was never able to watch his son play. By doing this, he created the groundwork for Kenlein Ogletree to develop into the football version of a Swiss army knife, a versatile player for the top Class 1A team in the state.
Ogletree’s early parental loss caused him to develop far faster than his contemporaries. Nevertheless, his mother put forth a lot of effort to support him and his sisters. Growing up, Ogletree adored Clairton greats like Tyler Boyd, and he watched the team faithfully throughout its state-record 66-game victory run. He always dreamed of the day when he would be able to follow in his father’s footsteps as the team’s next great receiver and leave his mark on school history.
As a junior, Ogletree caught 17 passes for 554 yards and eight touchdowns, enough for an incredible 32.6 yards per reception, which helped him start to establish himself in the league. However, as a senior, he has truly made an impression by packing the stat sheet in ways that are uncommon in football.
