Claus Luedke Obituary: The Ontario Provincial Police Association is mourning the tragic death of an officer who passed away from an apparent suicide. Claus Luedke was an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police – Peterborough County. Claus Luedke died after a battle with mental health. The opp officer killed himself on Jan 30, 2024. Claus Luedke is sadly one of many officers who passed away following a battle with depression and mental illness. At the time of this publication, The Ontario Provincial Police Association has not released any further details following is death.
IN ANOTHER STORY: Two individuals have been accused by six members of the Peterborough County Detachment Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of a November 2022 death.
On November 4, 2022, the Peterborough County OPP was dispatched to a rental property in the Municipality of Trent Lakes in response to a sudden fatality. The deceased has been identified as John FEVER, 76, a resident of Peterborough County.
On January 18, 2024, the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit apprehended and indicted an individual in violation of the Criminal Code (CC) after the investigation.
•Failure to Provide Necessary Items of Life, section 215(2)(b); •Causing Death by Criminal Negligence, section 220(b); Heather CONNOLLY, 62 years old of Curve Lake, is accused of these offenses.
The Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit apprehended and indicted an additional individual in violation of the CC on January 25, 2024.
•Failure to Provide Necessaries of Life, section 215(2)(b); •Causing Death by Criminal Negligence, section 220(b); Brenda BOOTH, 72, of Curve Lake, is charged with both offenses.
Both defendants were released on parole and have an upcoming appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough.
