Caleb Essen, a 17-year-old resident of Keller, Texas, tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident over the weekend. The incident occurred at the intersection of North Main Street (U.S. 377) and Westport Parkway in the Town of Westlake, where Caleb’s vehicle collided with another.
Emergency personnel responded promptly to the scene of the devastating two-vehicle crash, finding Caleb unconscious. Despite their efforts to save him, Caleb succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Caleb’s vehicle, traveling southbound on U.S. 377, failed to stop for a red light at Westport Parkway, leading to the collision. The crash resulted in significant damage to both vehicles.
As authorities continue their investigation, they have not ruled out the possibility of drugs or alcohol contributing to the accident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Traffic Investigator Barrett at (817) 743-4551 or mbarrett@cityofkeller.com.
In response to this tragic loss, a GoFundMe page titled “Caleb Essen” has been created by Vicki Kettler to assist Caleb’s family with funeral expenses and other related costs. The fundraiser has garnered significant support from the community, with generous donations helping to alleviate some of the financial burden during this difficult time.
