Arrest Made in Harrisonburg Murder Investigation

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – In a recent development, the Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) has made an arrest in connection with a murder investigation that took place earlier this spring. The incident occurred on March 30th at the 100 block of North High Street, where authorities discovered the lifeless body of 42-year-old John Clayton Carter. The HPD swiftly determined that Carter’s death was a result of a homicide, prompting an immediate investigation into the matter.

After months of relentless pursuit of justice, the HPD has finally identified a suspect. Tristen Michael Moore, a 27-year-old resident of Grottoes, has been implicated in the crime following an intensive investigation. This breakthrough in the case was announced by the HPD on December 19th, after a Grand Jury issued an indictment against Moore on December 18th.

The charges Moore faces, as specified by the Grand Jury, are as follows:
