Annie Brown, 62, Identified as Homicide Victim in Midwest City, Linked to Multiple Murders in Oklahoma

Police have identified the homicide victim in Midwest City as 62-year-old Annie Brown amid an investigation into a series of connected murders across Oklahoma. Local authorities are probing three separate homicides they believe may be linked. At around 12:55 a.m. on Wednesday, the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Office requested a welfare check on a resident in the 1000 block of Locust Lane after finding a vehicle registered to a woman at this address at a homicide scene in Pontotoc County. Midwest City officers discovered Annie Brown dead from an apparent gunshot wound. The investigation quickly zeroed in on Richard Chambers, a 42-year-old man who had been living in Brown’s backyard and had taken her vehicle hours before her body was found.

Authorities learned that two other people were killed in Allen, Pontotoc County, though their identities remain undisclosed. The linked homicides sparked a manhunt for Chambers, described as armed and dangerous. He was later apprehended near Ada, Oklahoma, without incident. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is now examining the two murders in Pontotoc County to determine if Chambers is responsible for all three homicides. Authorities believe these incidents are isolated and pose no broader threat to the public.

Investigators are meticulously reviewing evidence and conducting interviews to understand the full scope of these killings. The Midwest City Police Department has called on anyone with information to contact them at 405-739-1306. As the investigation into Annie Brown’s death and the other two homicides continues, police emphasize that this appears to be an isolated event with no ongoing community threat.

Law enforcement is actively pursuing leads to clarify the connections between the crime scenes and uncover the motive behind these murders. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities committed to transparency and providing updates as they become available. They encourage anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist in solving these cases. For now, the focus is on delivering justice to the victims and their families while ensuring any potential threats are addressed.
