Australia Junior Champion Amelia Kotze has sadly passed away. She died after being involved in a motorbike accident  Central Coast Cup in Somersby on Saturday 25th May 2024.

She was confirmed dead through a Facebook post made on Tuesday that reads “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic loss of 15 year old Amelia Kotze, who succumbed to her injuries after a racing incident on the weekend.”

Amelia Kotze’s journey into the world of motorcycle racing began at an age when most children are still mastering their bicycles. Hailing from a family passionate about motorsports, Amelia was introduced to motorcycles by her father, a former racer himself.

From her first tentative laps around the local track, it was evident that Amelia had an extraordinary affinity for the sport.

Her ability to handle the bike with finesse and her instinctive understanding of race dynamics set her apart from her peers.

Her dedication extends beyond physical preparation. Amelia is a keen student of the sport, constantly learning about bike mechanics and engineering to better understand her machine.

This comprehensive approach to racing, combining physical, technical, and strategic preparation, has been pivotal in her success.

GoFundMe was created by Sam Trembath to support the family in these trying times. The goal of the fundraiser was set to raise the sum of $20,000 but $13,208 has been raised.

An exceprt from the account reads “Our little champion of the track has finished her race here with us and has gained her wings to now race in heaven.

You were such an inspiration to everyone and you will be dearly missed by all.. Hold the throttle on babe, Fly high and ride hard beautiful girl.”
