A woman is dead and her husband has been arrested after a shooting in Ascension Parish on Wednesday night.
According to a spokesman with APSO, the victim has been identified as Brenda Morris, 44, of Gonzales.
Deputies said Sean Morris, 50, was arrested in connection with the deadly shooting and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail.
Morris faces several charges including second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and eight counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Brenda Morris was employed at Lamendola’s Supermarket in Gonzales. The store issued the following statement on her passing.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear Brenda Thomas-Morris. For over 13 years, Brenda served as the head cook in our deli, gracing Lamendola’s Supermarket with her warmth, talent, and that unforgettable, infectious smile,” the statement read, in part.
