Marcelo Garcia Houston Fire Death:- The Houston Fire Department is grieving the passing of firefighter Marcelo Garcia, 42, who died while responding to a 4-alarm fire at a warehouse in the East End late Wednesday night.

The fire was reported just before 11 p.m., and as the situation escalated, a mayday was issued after a wall collapsed, injuring two firefighters. Garcia, who had served with the department for ten years, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while another firefighter sustained minor injuries.

HFD Chief Thomas Munoz and Houston Mayor John Whitmire expressed their condolences and emphasized the sacrifices made by first responders. Chief Munoz described Garcia as a dedicated hero who devoted his life to serving the public, and Mayor Whitmire highlighted the tragedy of losing a young man with so much potential.

Both leaders urged the community to honor Garcia’s memory and recognize the dangers firefighters face daily.
