Katie Kirk, founder and owner of True North + Co., passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the age of 44. The cause of her death has not been disclosed at this time. Her passing was announced via social media.
Katie was beloved for her vibrant and youthful spirit. She had a unique ability to create joy and connection, often organizing personalized birthday celebrations, elaborate scavenger hunts, trivia nights, game nights, and Amazing Race-style events. These efforts will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
About Katie Kirk:
Born in Barrie, Ontario, Katie resided in Kelowna, British Columbia. She graduated from Eastview Secondary School and attended Queen’s University. Professionally, she was the Chief Magnet-Eyes-ing Officer at Love Beam Lash Co. and a Design Consultant at Urban Closets. Most notably, she was the founder and owner of True North + Co.
Kathryn “Katie” Amber Kirk will be remembered for her unwavering acts of service and generosity to her friends, family, and chosen family across Canada. She lived a heart-centered life, radiating kindness and love to all. Her strength and courage in pursuing her dreams in Kelowna were truly inspiring, even during challenging times. Katie’s Kelowna community described her as having a heart of gold, being incredibly loving, and a bright light to everyone around her.
Survived By:
Katie is survived by her loving parents, Gayle and Peter Kirk of Wasaga Beach, who will miss her deeply every day. She also leaves behind her sister, Megan, and brother-in-law, Brandon, who will forever feel the void of not having their beloved big sister.
