Chris Lapierre was a true Philadelphia native. His deep-rooted passion for Iron Hill Brewery, the city of Philadelphia, and craft beer was evident to everyone who met him. Over his 30-year career in the Philadelphia beer scene, he dedicated 22 years to Iron Hill.
Though he worked at various Iron Hill locations, Lapierre always commuted from Philadelphia, a testament to his love for the city’s tavern culture. He was known to enjoy Iron Hill beer at his favorite local spots and had a special fondness for the “Citywide Special,” a classic Philadelphia combination of beer and a shot.
Lapierre was known for his strong emphasis on relationships. Whether meeting someone for the first time or reconnecting with a long-time friend, he made everyone feel valued. His background in journalism from Syracuse University equipped him with a knack for engaging conversations on a wide range of topics.
A natural storyteller, Lapierre had a remarkable ability to make people smile and feel included. His storytelling and personal connections made him a beloved figure in the community, with friendships he cherished deeply.
