Vance Kjorsvik Obituary
Vance A. Kjorsvik, age 70, resident of Wahpeton, ND, died Friday, June 28, 2024 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Vance Ardell Kjorsvik was born May 6, 1954 in McVille, ND, the son of Lorentz and Selma (Northagen) Kjorsvik. He was raised on his parent’s farm and graduated from Michigan High School in 1973. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on December 4, 1973 and was honorably discharged on December 3, 1975. Vance worked in various jobs including Classic Roadsters and Super 8 Motel in Fargo. He was united in marriage to Donna Christesen on March 6, 1982. In 1983 they moved to Grand Forks, ND. They returned to Fargo in 1985 and in 1995 they moved to Michigan, ND, where Vance worked as the custodian at the Dakota Prairie School. In 2005 they moved to Wahpeton, where Vance worked as a custodian at the college there until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending his time at the zoo and the park.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Kyle (Jenny Scott), Travis, and Matthew; 6 grandchildren, Zachariah, Arianna, Madelyn, Emma, Sophia, and Amelia; 2 sisters, Sharilyn Hendrickson and Lorna (Glenn) Lindblad; sister-in-law, Jeri Christesen; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna; and 6 brothers, Larry, Myron, Duane, David, Curtis, and Lyle.
The Funeral Service for Vance will be held at the Aaker Funeral Home of Lakota, ND, on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Melrose Lutheran Cemetery, rural Michigan, ND.
