Gillian Tones, a resident of North Apollo, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly while hiking at Glacier National Park, Missoula, Montana, on Sunday, June 23, 2024. She was 26 years old at the time of her death. She was announced dead in a statement on a fundraising page that read “Hello everyone. We are deeply saddened to share the unexpected passing of our beautiful Gillian.”
Who was Gillian Tones?
Michael “Mike” Tones and Krystal (Davis) Tones of North Apollo were the parents of Gillian Starr Tones, who was born in Upper St. Clair on July 4, 1997. Gillian completed the nursing program at Westmoreland Community College and Apollo-Ridge High School in 2015. She attended Apollo Free Methodist Church and worked as a travelling nurse. Gillian adored being outdoors, traveling, and hiking.
She has always been moved by God’s beauty and has admired it. Gillian enjoyed listening to a wide range of music, but she particularly enjoyed classic folk and country tunes. Many people adored Gillian, who was well-known for her love of life and her commitment to helping others. She was a genuine blessing in the lives of all those who had the honour of knowing her.
Her friendliness and optimism were contagious. She had a remarkable capacity to uplift people around her. She was full of life, and many will remember that. She had a wonderful talent for giving others a sense of worth and recognition. Her sensitivity and compassion had no boundaries. She was always ready to offer support and a sympathetic ear.
