Who were Tyler and Susan Campbell? Garner Couple Killed, Son Injured After Driver Ran Red Light

Tyler and Susan Campbell were a Garner couple who were killed and their child left critically injured after a fiery crash on Monday.

Tyler Campbell, 28, and Susan Campbell, 29, both died in the crash on US Business 70 at New Rand Road in Garner, NC.

The accident occurred when Jordan Alexander Porter, 25, who was driving a Chevy Trailblazer, ran a red light and struck the Campbell’s dark blue Mazda CX5 Select.

Porter was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

He has been charged with driving while impaired.

The Campbell’s child has also been hospitalized with critical injuries.

Garner Police said: “Garner police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at about 1:22 p.m. this afternoon at the intersection of US 70 Hwy and New Rand Rd. Three vehicles were involved: a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer, a dark blue Mazda CX5 Select, and a black Cadilac Escalade.

“The driver of the Mazda, Tyler Campbell (28), and a passenger in that vehicle, Susan Campbell (29), have died because of their injuries. A third person from that vehicle, a child, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer, Jordan Alexander Porter (25), was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Investigators learned that the Trailblazer was traveling west on US 70 Hwy and ran a red light, striking the Mazda, traveling south on New Rand Rd. Jordan Porter has been charged with driving while impaired. More charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.

“A third vehicle, a Cadilac Escalade, had minor damage, and the occupants were not injured. More information will be released as it becomes available,”
