Tyemeshia Miller was a 19-year-old pregnant woman who was shot and killed on the evening of Monday, May 13th in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Miller and her unborn baby boy both lost their lives as a result of the shooting – Miller from the gunshot wound and her baby from asphyxia.
The incident occurred in the area of North 4th and Woodbine Streets in Dauphin County.
The Dauphin County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday identified the deceased as Tyemeshia Miller and ruled her cause of death as a homicide.
“The cause of death was a gunshot wound to the back. The manner of death was determined to be a homicide,” a statement from the county said.
“The victim was also expecting a baby boy. Baby boy Miller’s cause of death was ruled to be asphyxia due to maternal death. His manner of death was also determined to be a homicide.”
The Harrisburg Bureau of Police responded to the area of North 4th and Woodbine streets for a report of shots fired at 5:45 p.m. Monday.
Police found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound, and she was transported to a local hospital where she died as a result of those injuries.
