A 56-year-old Pacific woman was found dead in her home in a surprising murder-suicide involving a mother and son.
Mary Gan was shot and killed by a 26-year-old male, believed to be her son, who then turned the gun on himself.
Police are yet to formally identify him.
Pacfici Police received a call to a home in the 70 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 1:45 p.m. on Monday.
A family member had gone there after several attempts to reach someone at the home had failed, according to the statement.
That family member called 911 after entering the home.
Police found the victims inside the home.
According to police, Gan suffered a gunshot wound, and the male “suffered from what is consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
More information about the shooting is expected to come out in the coming days.
