An alleged incident of gunfire occurred during the Reithoffer Festival, situated at 11130 Mall Circle in Waldorf’s St. Charles Towne Shopping Center, around 9:10 p.m. on April 27, 2024. Investigators are currently present at the scene, conducting an inquiry into the matter.
Upon their arrival, emergency personnel discovered a 16-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Due to the severity of the injuries, EMS requested a medical evacuation (MEDEVAC). Firefighters swiftly designated a landing zone for the Maryland State Police’s Trooper 2 helicopter. Subsequently, the victim was airlifted to a nearby trauma facility for urgent medical attention.
Law enforcement authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim or any information regarding a suspect involved in the incident. The police investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Individuals with any relevant information are urged to contact the St. Charles Police Department.
