Brayden Robertson Demopolis AL Death Cause, Obituary: Boy murder by Tender Years Daycare employee

Brayden Robertson, a 5-month-old boy from Demopolis, Alabama, tragically lost his life on March 25, 2024, in a horrifying incident at Tender Years Daycare. Reports indicate that Brayden was murdered by a daycare employee.

The sequence of events unfolded rapidly, beginning with a 911 call received at 12:56 p.m., reporting Brayden as unconscious. Shortly after, a coworker of Brayden’s mother received a call from the daycare owner, requesting Brayden’s mother to come urgently as Brayden was found unconscious. Upon her arrival at 1:04 p.m., emergency medical services were already on-site attempting to revive Brayden. Despite their efforts and those of a pediatrician who arrived shortly after, Brayden was pronounced dead after extensive resuscitation attempts.

The suspect in Brayden’s death, Versa Mae Simmons, 65, who was responsible for the infant area at Tender Years Daycare, was arrested on Friday and charged with Brayden’s murder. She was granted a million-dollar bond.

Reports suggest that there are surveillance cameras within the daycare, and the murder charge was filed after analyzing video footage from the newborn area. While the exact details of the incident remain undisclosed, authorities and medical personnel have urged parents of children in the daycare to seek neurological evaluations for their infants.
