The deceased individual discovered on a school bus in Waterville on Monday has been identified by the police as Anthony Engelhardt, a 24-year-old resident of Naples. Waterville Police received a report at approximately 4:30 a.m. regarding a person slouched over the bus’s steering wheel.
Upon arriving at the Junior High School parking lot, officers found Engelhardt deceased. The Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Engelhardt’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities have confirmed that Engelhardt had no apparent ties to the Waterville School Department. The reason behind Engelhardt’s presence in the city remains unknown.
