It is with profound sadness that we gather to mourn the loss and honor the memory of Ron Joannou, Sr., a distinguished colleague, cherished friend, and the heart of our karaoke gatherings, who passed away on February 19, 2024. Ron’s vibrant presence, filled with joy, laughter, and warmth, touched everyone fortunate enough to have known him, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and humor that will be forever cherished.
Ron’s remarkable journey began with his honorable service in the US Air Force, a testament to his lifelong commitment to serving others. In 1966, Ron embarked on an extraordinary 50-year career with Formed Plastics, where his passion, expertise, and unwavering dedication made an indelible impact on our company and those around him.
Starting as a tool and die maker, Ron’s talents were quickly recognized, leading to a series of promotions that saw him assume significant roles within the company, including Plant Manager, Vice President of Manufacturing, and Vice President of Engineering. His tireless work ethic, profound industry knowledge, and infectious humor endeared him to our community.
Upon his retirement in 2016, Ron entered a cherished chapter focused on family, relishing moments with his 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and indulging his love for golf. Yet, his influence within Formed Plastics remained strong, carried on through the dedicated service of his son, Ron Joannou, Jr., as our VP of Manufacturing, and his grandson Chris Joannou, our Rotomolding Department Supervisor.
The void left by Ron’s passing is profound, yet his spirit and legacy will continue to resonate within Formed Plastics and in the hearts of all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His laughter, wisdom, and friendship enriched our lives, leaving behind a lasting legacy of excellence and camaraderie.
As we mourn Ron’s absence, let us find solace in the memories and impacts he has left us, cherishing the times we shared and the indelible mark he made on our lives. Though he may no longer be with us physically, his spirit endures, guiding and inspiring us with enduring wisdom and laughter.
Rest in eternal peace, Ron. While we will deeply miss your physical presence, your legacy of dedication, humor, and friendship will forever inspire and uplift us.
