The Lawrence Police Department is deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Sgt. Charles M. Saindon. He was survived by his beloved wife and his two children.
Sgt. Saindon was remembered for his remarkable influence on his family, community, and fellow officers, as well as his devoted service and unwavering devotion to duty.
Lawrence police wrote in a Facebook post announcing Saindon’s death, saying that, “Please join us as we extend our deepest condolences to his wife and two children, and his entire family, as well as his many friends,”
This sad news was also announced by a fellow officer, Charlie Manousos in a social media post, that reads,
Sgt Saindon just recently became a member of the NEMLEC Motor Unit, my sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Who was Charles Saindon?
Sgt. Charles Saindon served in the LPD motorcycle unit in addition to being a patrol officer, detective, and canine officer. He had worked on auto theft cases, as well as drone training for the department.
Officers stated that he most recently worked as a night shift supervisor. He was a 21 year police veteran. The Greater Lawrence Exchange Club recognized Saindon and Sgt. Angel Lopez as Officer of the Year in February 2020.
Sgt. Charles M. Saindon committed his life to serving and defending the people of Lawrence with compassion, honor, and integrity.
After completing his training at the Lowell Police Academy, Sgt. Saindon started as a police officer in October 2003. He rose to the rank of Sergeant in October 2021, demonstrating the utmost professionalism and dedication in his career.
Sgt. Saindon’s death leaves a profound void in his family’s hearts, and they will cherish his memory and the lasting impact he made on their lives forever.
