Following an extensive three-week search, the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office made a grim discovery on Monday, Feb. 26, locating the lifeless body of 24-year-old Victor Devon Scott in the Town of Tully. The news has sent shockwaves through the local community, leaving many reeling from the tragic outcome.

According to reports from the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), detectives found Scott’s body in the wooded area near Hawthorne Hill Road. The discovery marked the culmination of a relentless search effort that involved patrol deputies and CID detectives scouring various locations where Scott was last seen.

Scott was last spotted on Thursday, Feb. 8, in the Town of Tully, near the intersection of Route 11 and Scammell Road. Despite the concerted efforts of law enforcement personnel, as well as the support of friends, family, and concerned residents from the Southern Hills of Onondaga County, the search proved fruitless for weeks.

The search operation utilized advanced techniques, including the deployment of Air One and drones to comb through numerous areas. Despite these efforts, Scott remained elusive until his tragic discovery on Monday.

Throughout the investigation, authorities maintained that Scott was not considered a danger to himself or others. Additionally, there were no indications that he had any known enemies who posed a threat to his safety while he was missing. The absence of evidence suggesting foul play led investigators to believe that Scott had not come to harm or was not in immediate danger at the time of his disappearance.

However, the circumstances surrounding Scott’s death remain shrouded in mystery. The exact cause of his demise is yet to be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office. As such, the police investigation into his death is currently classified as non-criminal, pending the results of the medical examination.

The untimely death of Victor Devon Scott has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones and the wider community. As authorities await further information from the Medical Examiner’s Office, the focus now shifts to providing support and closure to those affected by this tragic loss.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reassures the public that they remain committed to uncovering the truth surrounding Scott’s untimely passing and bringing closure to his grieving loved ones.
