26-Year-Old Sachin Lohiya Thrashed in Alleged Road Rage Incident: Arrest Made

New Delhi: In a surprising turn of events regarding the alleged road rage incident, where 26-year-old Sachin Lohiya was brutally beaten up by a group of men on Friday, the police have made a significant arrest. One of the assailants, who was wearing a khaki jacket resembling the ones issued by the Delhi Police, has been apprehended.

Chandan Chowdhary, DCP (South), stated, “The arrested individual has been identified as Manoj, who works as a security guard in the same company as the previously arrested individualduals.” It has been confirmed that Manoj is not a policeman and had purchased the jacket from Jharoda Kalan. This incident serves as a reminder that not all individuals wearing khaki jackets are cops.

Following a complaint by the accused men against Lohiya, a case was also registered against him. Lohiya was subsequently arrested but released on bail on Saturday. The police had previously registered a case based on Lohiya’s complaint against Manoj, Kaviraj, Anil Kumar, and Prabhat Sharma, all four of whom have been arrested.

DCP Chowdhary mentioned, “We are currently interrogating two other accused individuals, namely Ajay Kumar (brother of Kaviraj) and Sachin Yadav.” The police have registered a case against Lohiya based on Sharma’s complaint.

According to Sharma’s statement, he, along with driver Vikrant and two customers, was traveling on the 60 Foota Road in Chhatarpur in a Celerio car on Friday. Near metro pillar No 43, Lohiya’s Verna car collided with the Celerio from behind. This led to a heated argument, and Lohiya allegedly assaulted Sharma, prompting him to call Manoj, Anil, Kaviraj, and others to join in the assault. During the altercation, both Sharma and Lohiya sustained injuries and were subsequently taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre. The police have recorded statements from eyewitnesses as part of their investigation.

Lohiya, who was arrested and later released on bail, claimed, “Apart from the injuries to my legs, I have sustained injuries all over my face, head, and chest. I am still unable to comprehend why those individuals attacked me in such a brutal manner. One of them, who was wearing a khaki jacket, even threatened me with a revolver against my head.”

Lohiya further alleged that the local police did not cooperate with him and filed an FIR under less severe sections of the law. He said, “They damaged my mobile phone and took away the cash I had in the car. The police did not take these factors into consideration.” The 26-year-old, who has since been discharged from the hospital, claimed that the assault has made it difficult for him to sleep.

The investigation into the road rage incident is ongoing, and the police are actively pursuing all leads to ensure justice is served.
