22-Year-Old Dominic K. Bosworth, Involved in A High-Speed Pursuit, Died After Firing Shots at A Police Vehicle
A tragic turn of events emerged as 22-year-old Dominic K. Bosworth of Mexico, identified as the driver in a high-speed police pursuit on Friday, December 15, 2023, has passed away, as confirmed by a news release from the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office.
Bosworth met an untimely demise at the University Hospital in Columbia during the early hours of Saturday, December 16, 2023. An autopsy is anticipated, pending examination by the Audrain County Coroner, to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his death.
The ordeal began when officers responded to Casey’s in Laddonia on December 15, 2023, following a report of a female juvenile allegedly in the company of Bostic.
As deputies arrived, Bosworth initiated a high-speed chase, maneuvering onto several gravel roads while reportedly firing shots at a Missouri Patrol Highway Vehicle, resulting in gunfire impact on the vehicle. Prior to this, the female juvenile had been released from the vehicle.
The pursuit concluded when Bosworth’s vehicle was disabled at the intersection of Boulevard and Breckenridge in Mexico. Upon discovery, Bosworth was found with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, and two 9mm pistols were recovered from his vehicle.
