Two trucks crashed on Highway 99 at Southgate Avenue in Chico Thursday afternoon.

The CHP said the first call about a multi-vehicle crash came in at around 3:37 p.m.

The CHP said they arrived about one minute later. The CHP said the cause of the crash was unsafe speed.

The light was changing from green to yellow and a black Dodge truck stopped for the light then a white Tacoma was behind it, the CHP said.

The Tacoma couldn’t brake in time and crashed into the Dodge, the CHP said. The CHP also said the wet roads didn’t help, but there were no major injuries.

The left turn lane and number one lane were closed and should be open Thursday afternoon.
